Description
Mirror of the Soul
I stand her now
My soul is this broken mirror,
The cracks are my heart.
Scarred for life while looking at
This diminutive girl’s reflection,
Can’t forget the anguish
That has embossed my mind
Leaves me afflicted internally.
I recall….
Laying in bed late at night
Racing thoughts….hating my corpse,
My soul crawls under my skin
Eyes see out but stay tightly closed.
Who was I then…..now?
I feel like two people
Tainted by the same purpose,
Adjacent souls caught up
In a never ending battle.
Diminutive reflection I see
As I survive before this…..
Broken mirror
Connected by everything but time
Because…..
Drowning in these thoughts
Just want to evacuate my mind,
Soul of this little girl
Is frayed and dejected.
My world felt like a playground
He was always playing dirty,
Unhinged within myself
Pain….insecurities
What was I left with?
A lifetime of gaping wounds!!
Now….
Clean up these wounds,
Look forward not back,
Learn to recognize
What I can’t transform.
Always remember….
Things happen for a reason
It wasn’t my fault
So…
Take down this broken mirror
Cracks and all
With my mind…body…soul
Then…
Truly seeing the beauty and innocence
That lies within
